The aim was to develop a tableware, which is suitable for every day, versatile and contemporary, but on the other hand it should reflect the charm, the indulgence and the precision of a traditional company like Augarten. For the production of rotational shapes like plates, bowls and cups the porcelain paste is thrown over a revolving plaster mold. After the main firing, the edge is polished. This is a standard production sequence in the manufactory foundet in 1718. With Orbit this step was particularly captured. The edge of every piece was extended to a fine semi matt polished rim, which stands in contrast to the glazed surface and emphasizes the materiality of porcelain. Therefore this "decoration" is fully embedded in the production flow.
