M Das Goldene Wiener Herz

The Kirche am Steinhof ( also called the church of St. Leopold) was built 1904-1907 by the architect Otto Wagner for the patients of the 'Healing and Care Institution for the Neurologically and Mentally Sick 'Am Steinhof' and is one of the most famous Jugenstil (Art Nouveau) churches in the world. As its imposing, shining golden dome resembles from a distance a halved lemon, the place is still known today as 'Lemonisberg'by the Viennese.
